Are You Still Struggling to Be Successful in Your Company?

I can guarantee you are missing at least one pillar if you are struggling. What are pillars? There are 5 of them. These pillars must be in place in a company for YOU, the rep, to be successful. Do your due diligence and find out if your company has 5 pillars.

Pillar #1 is Company Management with EXPERIENCE & INTEGRITY

How do you know if your company management has experience & integrity?

READ YOUR POLICIES & PROCEDURES - This is your contract with the company. Would you buy a house without reading the contract? Do yourself a favor - read your contract with your MLM company. This is what you have to abide by. Here are some of the things you may find in there and what they mean:

  • ONGOING - If you have to have ONGOING anything - this is very simple - it means you can NEVER retire
  • RIGHT TO ACCEPT OR REJECT ANY APPLICATION OR RENEWAL APPLICATION - Again - very simple. This clause is used in contracts with an annual renewal. The company can REJECT YOUR RENEWAL APPLICATION!! They generally don’t invoke this clause until you RETIRE.
  • TERMINATE CONTRACT - This blows my mind. I’m amazed at the number of people who still work a company after they know that the company can terminate their contract WHENEVER THEY WANT!!! There is one company out there that says they can terminate YOUR BUSINESS (your contract with them) “at any time for any reason”. Another company says they can terminate “for cause”. When a rep inquired as to the meaning of that, he was told :

“there is no way for us to list everything that would be cause for termination, so we just put ‘for cause’ in there to make sure we cover everything.”

Why would they not be able to list everything that would be cause for termination??? That’s ridiculous.

That’s just INTEGRITY. This post would be pages and pages long to explain all of the “gotcha’s” that companies hide in their policies. Go do some research. Read your policies & procedures (if you can find them - some companies hide them). Find out what’s in there. This is your contract and you need to read it.

Pillar #2 - Timing in the company and timing in the industry

Is the company trying to sell outdated products or services? Is it in it’s infancy? Has it passed it’s prime?

If the company is under 2 years old, it probably won’t be here in 2 years. Do you want to build it once or keep building hoping one of these “ground floor” or under the ground floor basement deals works out?

If the company is selling information products or digital downloads or phone cards or something silly like that, you are in for a reality kick in the pants when it gets shut down. Everyone is catching on to these scams especially after the Burnlounge fiasco.

If the company has been around for over 20 years and has an old, antiquated pay plan, the only ones making any money are the ones who have been in it forever. And they make their money at YOUR expense.

Pillar #3 is a remarkable product that a lot of people want.

Ask yourself this:

Would I buy my product at the full retail price if I were not in the company?

(HINT: If you have to educate people on why they need your product - this pillar is NOT in place)

Pillar #4 is a Compensation Plan that pays Part Time People

Does it pay part time people as well as the 1 - 2% that are “sponsor monsters”? The majority of people who join your business will be part time people.

How many people do you need in your organization purchasing product each month in order for you to make your desired income? If you need 2,000 people ordering $100 of product each month to make $10,000 and I need 400, who will have an easier time building to $10,000/mo? (Hint - it’s not you)

Pillar #5 is a Proven System for Success

This is NOT “make a list of your friends & family” or “buy leads”. Those things do not work.

After you’ve reviewed your company against the 5 Pillars, let me know if you have any questions. You can listen to an in-depth recording of the 5 Pillars Here.

A New Career Path

Let me preface what I am going to tell you by saying this:

I LOVE network marketing and I LOVE mentoring for free. I will still continue to help anyone in any company through the mentoring for free system. I will still continue to work my network marketing company. I’m not deleting anything, just adding.

Now, with that said, I have been searching for my true passion.

Maybe it’s because I turned 40 this past year and never really figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. ;-)
Everything I have read says “find your true passion”. My true passion is helping people. I’m a social butterfly. That is where I thrive - helping people. I love to be the “go to gal”. Yes - it’s selfish - I love to feel needed. But that’s not all. I love to see how someone was able to better their life because of how I helped them. It makes me proud to get the phone calls from people who say “I’m so glad I called you because you always have great advice (or info or listening or whatever)”. It makes me proud when I see that I had a hand in helping someone better their life.

I’ve done a lot of prayer and reflection on this issue and what I keep being led back to is Life Coaching. I am starting my new career as a life coach.

If you are in the Mentoring For Free program with me and need help with your MLM, you do not need to sign up for my Life Coaching. I will never charge for mentoring people to be successful in network marketing.

If you know anyone who would like a life coach or would like to learn more about a life coach, please send them to LifeCoachingByRoxanne.com

Thank you for your continued support.

YOU Deserve Success!!

Is MLM “one of those things”

What is wrong when a network marketing trainer starts a network marketing company and then about a year later, (AFTER quite a few of her faithful followers jump ship on their companies and join hers) she decides that she is going to “let go of the multi-level pay plan” because she doesn’t want the stigma of being “one of those things”.

WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT?? If you don’t want your company to be considered “one of those things”, don’t take people’s money to train them how to be successful in “one of those things”.

I used to respect this “mlm trainer”. Now I’m just saddened that I spent the time I did trying to do things like she was teaching and wondering why it wasn’t working. It wasn’t working because the way she teaches DOESN’T WORK. If it did, she wouldn’t have dropped the multi-level pay plan because she doesn’t want to be known as “one of those things”.

On her blog she says:

the new company I’m part owner of has just let go of the multi-level pay plan. We’ve adopted a two tiered affiliate type pay plan instead. Two things are happening now:

First, no more closed doors just because of the type of business we are (”one of those things”).

Second, with no monthly financial qualifications of any kind, people with the deepest downlines are earning more now than before. Because most weren’t meeting the usual mlm monthly qualifications and so, didn’t pick up commissions on all those levels regularly anyway.

This is not a pay plan for the experienced deep mlm builders. It’s a plan for people who must buy more product in each month than they qualify to earn, no matter how deep their lines are.

Well…I’m confused. Basically what she’s said is that instead of paying you for ALL of the volume you bring in, they will only pay you for two levels. I don’t know about you, but I am happy that I get paid for the volume I bring in even 6 or 7 levels deep.

Why would anyone work a pay plan like that? The poor reps are just glorified salesmen. I bet they could go get actual jobs as salesmen and have benefits and all since they are being limited in what they can earn anyway.

I don’t know what is more disturbing - the fact that an MLM trainer drops the MLM from their pay plan or the fact that an MLM trainer doesn’t want HER company to be known as “one of those things” but keeps taking money from people in MLM to teach THEM how to do “one of those things”. Then she thinks that those of us who are successful building “one of those things” by forming relationships with people don’t know what we are doing.

Things that make you go HHHMMM…..

Learn how to build your business by forming relationships with people

Are You “In Your Face”?

I recently set up a new training site for anyone in any company. It’s one central location where people can come and get training and ask questions and not have to worry about being “pitched” by anyone (including me). I have the following statement right on the front of the site:

This site is for anyone in any company to come and get help. It is NOT for you to be “in your face” and pitch others. You can, however, put a little about yourself and what you do on your profile.

Remember - this is a training site, not a site where you pitch others on your company. This is a site where you can ask questions and get them answered. It’s a site where everyone can feel safe that they are not going to be “jumped on” by typical network marketers. Let’s keep the helpful atmosphere that this site was created based on. If you violate this, you will be banned from the network immediately. This is a SAFE place for people to learn. I don’t pitch my company here and I expect the same respect in return. If someone wants to know about your business, they will ask.

Now, this is a site where I train people. It’s so people who want my help can interact with me and ask me questions.

Recently, someone joined the site. I saw her request come through and at that time I had no idea who she was, but approved her membership and welcomed her to the site. This person never even said hello to anyone, she IMMEDIATELY began spamming people on their comment space the minute I approved her membership.

Here’s what she had to say:

I just want you to know that I am in the BEST company and we have the BEST pay plan of any network marketing company. Please check it out at http://—–.com

I got a complaint that the rules were being violated. I was flabbergasted!! I could not believe anyone would be that “in your face”. I immediately banned her from the site and removed her spam comments to people.

Later that day, I signed into my myspace account and lo and behold, she sent me a friend request. WOW - I couldn’t believe it. I sent her an email explaining that I had to ban her from the training site, but if she is coachable, I would be happy to help her learn the proper way to create relationships with people so they will ask her about her business instead of jumping on people.

She got VERY nasty. Accused me of being smug, condescending, and sarcastic.

The bottom line is this - She will either become willing to learn or she will be struggling forever. Coachable means willing to learn. When I say “If you are coachable” that is what I mean.

Network marketing is a RELATIONSHIP business. It is not a business where you shove your “deal” down people’s throats and spam a bunch of people and chase them. It is a business where you put yourself in a position to have people coming to you asking “What company are you with? I want to join your business”. I get those calls a lot. I also get calls from people who need help and they tell me (after reading my blog or articles or comments on the internet) “I felt like I knew you and wanted to call you”.

I can teach you how to create that. Sign up for my new training site today and ask me any questions. Just don’t spam the members because I’ll have to ban you. ;-)

5 Pillars That Must Be Present in a Company for YOU to be Successful

My good friend and mentor, Michael Dlouhy, joined over 100 companies to find out
===========================

  • Why some companies are successful while the reps aren’t
  • Why the top 1 - 2 % of the reps are successful while the others aren’t
  • How to know if a company will be around to pay your children’s children

===========================
He came up with the 5 Pillars. These are things that should be in place in order for you to be successful.

So, what are these 5 Pillars?

1) Company Management Experience WITH INTEGRITY Read your Policies & Procedures and research the company owners to find out if this pillar is present.

2) Timing in the company and Timing in the Industry. Is the company trying to sell outdated products or services? Is it in it’s infancy? Has it passed it’s prime?

3) A remarkable product that a lot of people want. Would you buy your product at the full retail price if you were not in the company? (HINT: If you have to educate people on why they need your product - this pillar is NOT in place)

4) Compensation Plan Does it pay part time people as well as the 1 - 2% that are “sponsor monsters”? The majority of people who join your business will be part time people. How many people do you need in your organization purchasing product each month in order for you to make your desired income?

5) A Proven System for Success This is NOT “make a list of your friends & family” or “buy leads”. Those things do not work.

Listen to an in depth review of the 5 Pillars

If you have less than 5 Pillars, it is possible for you to have success, but it will be a lot harder than if you are in a 5 Pillars company. Why set yourself up to work harder?

Please post any questions you have about the 5 Pillars here.

Many Are Missing the Mark in Web 2.0

I have been checking out how others are using YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook, and other web 2.0 sites. I am AMAZED at the number of people who do not put a link to more information in their profile. I just watched a couple videos on youtube by a young gentleman who has 21 videos. NOT ONE of those videos has a link to a blog, webpage or anything. NOT ONE of those videos has a link in the description of the video.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

35% of the population are GREEN and 35% of the population are YELLOW. (See my ezine article on colored personalities for further clarification on this) That’s a total of SEVENTY PERCENT of the population!!

Greens and yellows want to be able to click links and go to other pages and learn as much as they can about you BEFORE the ever fill out a form requesting information or email you or call you. If you have no way for them to find out more, they are GONE.

I had a gentleman ask me one time - “I have a video that’s had thousands of hits. How do I capitalize on that?” My answer to him was to put a link to his blog on his YouTube channel. His response “I don’t have a blog”. OK then start one and link to it.

If you’re relying on the contact through youtube or myspace or facebook, you aren’t going to get the response you want. Give people links to other sites where they can get more information. Let them click other links to find out more about you. Put your email address and phone number on your sites. People don’t like to fill out forms or have to be signed in somewhere to get info.

How Remarkable Are You?

Seth Godin writes in his blog post today:

This morning at 5:05, I drove away from my house outside of New York City.

At 7:25 am, I was at the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. (No, my meeting wasn’t at the White House, it was next door, but still). No hassles, no affronts, no work stoppages, no FAA inspections, no surly overworked attendants, no lost items or near arrests or runway tie ups or traffic jams.

A few years ago, this was normal. Not worth remarking on. Today, it’s a friggin miracle.

What it takes to be remarkable changes every day. Which means you have to change as well.

This is so true. If you are going to be successful in Network Marketing, you need to know how to change when what it takes to be remarkable changes.

What worked 5 or 10 years ago does not work today. If you are unwilling or unable to be remarkable today, you will not be successful. If you are learning how to “overcome objections” and “close” people, you need a better way.

Learn what it takes to be remarkable today. People don’t respond to the marketing that they responded to in the past. People join people, not companies. To be successful today you need to be able to create relationships and the right people will join you. I have not asked anyone to join my business. I find new friends and genuinely care about people and helping them. The ones who are right for my business ASK ME if they can join my business.

Learn how to create relationships and be remarkable today.

YOU Deserve Success!!
